We spent two days in Grenada hosting health fairs. This was an eye opening experience into the world of public health, and the amount of people we were able to help through these initiatives was incredible.
One day, we were lucky enough to go to a disability center and interact with patients there. Being able to help a very special population of people allowed me to see different areas of healthcare.
Home visits were the most personal and intimate of all our patient interaction throughout this trip. By performing home visits, we were able to see their health issues more closely and deliver them care directly to their homes.
One of the most important things we did while in Grenada was educate people. This was a side of nursing I had not fully explored yet, and after this experience I can confidently say that I can provide health education to diverse groups of patients.
